Water escaping through the cracks of your parking lot can be detrimental to the overall condition if left untreated.
1. Small cracks will allow water to seep into the asphalt.
2. The water expands and contracts with temperature change resulting in larger cracked areas.
3. This allows more water underneath the pavement which will begin to weaken the base.
4. When the base is unstable and weak, it will speed up the process of asphalt failure.
Just remember small cracks will only get larger. Those large cracks eventually become potholes. Those potholes will need to be repaired, or worst case scenario the parking lot or driveway will need to be replaced. This will cost way more than having your asphalt maintained on a regular basis.
